DATA PROTECTION PRIVACY NOTICE FOR CANDIDATES
Our purpose in issuing this notice, as ALTINBAŞ UNIVERSITY (“Data Controller” or “University”), is to inform you in the most transparent way possible about the methods of personal data collection, the purposes of data processing, third parties with whom your data is shared, legal reasons for data processing, and your rights as data subject under Article 10 of Turkish Personal Data Protection Act No. 6698. Our University takes maximum security measures to ensure legitimate processing, retention and sharing of your personal data, and to protect your privacy.
The University processes the following personal data by making phone calls to alumni, sending them online surveys, or requesting them to fill out an alumni information form as part of activities conducted by Alumni Relations and Internationalization Office.
Personal details (First and last name, Turkish identification number, date of birth, nationality)
Contact details (Email address, phone number)
Location details (City and country of residence, residential address)
Work details (Name of the employer, sector, position, date of employment)
Education background (Name of the university/major/graduation year)
The types of personal data mentioned above are fully or partially processed by Altınbaş University through automated or non-automated means under Article 5 and 6 of Turkish Personal Data Protection Act No. 6698, “It is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject” and “Data processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or protection of any right”.
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes during a specific period of time required by these purposes, and transferred to third parties in a limited manner and to the extent of purpose of processing,
Execution / supervision of work activities
For communication and related purposes
Using them as evidence in legal disputes
For the organization of social events and activities
Offering job opportunities
Communicating alumni perks and advantages
Maintaining contact with alumni
Encouraging alumni to join our network
Planning and conducting corporate communication activities
You may contact us, as data subject, either by mail (Mahmutbey Dilmenler Caddesi, No:26 Bağcılar İstanbul), or KEP mail (altinbasuniversitesi@hs02.kep.tr) or send an email to mezun@altinbas.edu.tr, using your secure electronic signature, mobile signature or your email address approved by our University, to submit your requests under Article 11 of the aforementioned Act.
You are required by Article 5/2 of Data Protection Communiqué issued by Turkish Government to include the following details: your first name and last name, wet signature (if it’s a written application), Turkish Identification Number (for Turkish citizens), your nationality, passport number or national ID number (if you are a foreigner), work or home address, a valid electronic mail, phone or fax number, and the subject of your request/application. Attaching further details or documentation (if any) related to your request will help us address to your queries more effectively and more quickly. We reserve the right to confirm your identity before processing any requests.
